I was in my engine compartment the other day and my engine was sounding like the valves need adjusting I am at 102,000 and since I have had car have not had this done is this something that is easy or something I should have someone else do? thanks for the help also if it is something I can do if any of you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it
WHile it can be done it is not easy. The adjustments are made vis shims with the valve train assembeled, this takes some special tools and time. CHeck out the FSM for the procedure to see if it;s something you want to tackle.
ALthough the factory manual has a different way of checking tolerances. JWT provides cold tolerances while the FSM provides hot tolerances. YOu can remove and adjust the shims with the valvetrain assembeled, it is outlined in the FS and requires some special tools.
