Having debated long and hard over whether to build a turbo setup or buy a kit, I have decided to go with the kit. This decision came about due to military requirements. I am not at home after coming back from overseas. I am over a 1000 miles away. I am in El Paso, TX, (Ft. Bliss) and do not have much access to anything to include internet, garages, and tools. That being the case, there are some shops out here that will do the work if I have everything. So having come to this point, what would be the best kit/set-up out there for a '99 Sentra, GA16DE, GXE Limited Edition, 1.6L, with Hotshot CAI, header, downpipe, Random Tech hi-flow cat, and Ractive exhaust system? (and yes, I know Iwill have to remove some parts.)
Money will not an option. Come the end of March, I will have at the minimum, $11G's to put on my baby. Sometimes sacrificing a few years pays back. I am looking for more or less like what Wes and others have done. Hell, I even put Wes's runs on Myspace to show the world what our cars can do. Now I gots to get there myself. I can check out somethings myself when not working, but time is limited on the computers and phones. People get anal about personal calls. Even in the military, it's crazy.
-I know I will be getting the 3" Stromung exhaust. With the RT Hi-Flow cat, Do I need the resonator? Or is that more for the dB's? Either way, matters to me not.
-What else should I get that may or may not be in a kit? Things that you would be like, "Oh snap, wish I had this or that!"
If your looking to do exaclty what wes did thats probobly the best turbo setup. Other things that you could do outside of the kit is JWT cams, port head and manifold, or even get a place to do some custom block work and add more psi.

Well first off I don't think HS sells the GA16DE turbo kit anymore. You didn't say which kit you were going with, but that's the only good one I've heard of. Either way, some extras I would add to any kit would be EGT gauge, boost controller, and HD clutch(JWT stage 2 is a good one). Personally, I would go with a resonator on the exhaust, I think it sounds better. Also, proper fuel management is the most important thing, JWT ECU is the best way to go.
To give you any more specific info you need to tell us what kit you're going with and what your power goals are.
I wouldn't jump into head work or cams right away, I think you could probably spend your money elsewhere. If you've got that kind of budget though, you might consider building up the bottom end, but again it depends on your goals.

Sorry for not getting back quickly. I am still looking for all kits out there. Can't find anything on the website for HotShot for our motors. Will call after the weekend to see what they got. Gonna have to make a few other calls as well.
