First of all i want to say that this website has been a lot of help. Anyway i have a 200sx SE 1.6 and my MAF is malfunctioning. I have one coming in the mail soon. Since my 200sx is the only car i have i decide to drive it around anyway. My car's acceleration is crappy and so slow and it slowly rises to 3k. One night after partying, drving back to the naval base i decided to see if my car would get passed 3k rpm. It did but my engine felt like it wanted to go but something was stopping it. WHen i finally parked, i popped open my hood and glowing orange in the dark was my stock exhaust manifold. What is up with that? I think if i do that again, my car is going to blow up.
Collapsed Catalytic converter huh? Good thing i took the initiative to buy a new one. THe one i have now is so rusted. At one point my O2 sensor fell off and dragged on the road for quite a few miles and then my exhaust was releasing white smoke everywhere until i replaced it. Replacing it was the hard part because the hole the O2 sensor goes in, the threads were rusted away.
Ok, i just changed my MAF, spark plugs, fuel filter, cleaned the whole fuel system, oil and my b14 still accelerates real slow and when it gets to 3000 rpm, it doesn't go anymore until i shift. What is really the problem, somebody, i am going nutts!!!! I can't even accelerate up a hill like a normal car.
