Does anyone have pictures on making the homemade cai? and has anyone tried using the top half of the air box with the kn filter as the filter.? i'm curious as to see if that would do the same as a cone in the bumper since the filter would be aimed at tha fog light hole.

thanks for the pics they will help, how much more horse do you estimate that the turbo gave you?

Actually i dont think it work the same as the cone filter. I dont think that it would increase the intake of air as much as the filter.
What you can do it, keep the top end of the intake tube,( before the Maf) then buy a 3" 90 degree mandrel bent tube. You have to get a Maf adaptor, and a cone filter as well. Remove the stock air boxes. The stock hole for the down pipe has to be cut open big enough for the 3" pipe to fit. Connect the maf adaptor to the new 90 degree mandrel bent pipe, with a 3" pipe coupler (from homedepot). A groumett for the temp sensor. Drill a hole in the lower bend of the pipe big enough for the groumett. Then put your tempo sensor in. . Remove the wheel well plastic. The put on the filter and youve got one way of making a homemade Cai.

at 6-7psi right now, the car definitely feels like 150-160whp. i havent dyno'd yet, but from other cars ive driven and worked on...thats what the SOTP tells me.
