Actually i dont think it work the same as the cone filter. I dont think that it would increase the intake of air as much as the filter.
What you can do it, keep the top end of the intake tube,( before the Maf) then buy a 3" 90 degree mandrel bent tube. You have to get a Maf adaptor, and a cone filter as well. Remove the stock air boxes. The stock hole for the down pipe has to be cut open big enough for the 3" pipe to fit. Connect the maf adaptor to the new 90 degree mandrel bent pipe, with a 3" pipe coupler (from homedepot). A groumett for the temp sensor. Drill a hole in the lower bend of the pipe big enough for the groumett. Then put your tempo sensor in. . Remove the wheel well plastic. The put on the filter and youve got one way of making a homemade Cai.
