Car sounds like a weed whacker

this is my second exhaust, and it sounds horrible. i keep wasting my $ on a muffler that just ends up sounding like a weed whacker after 6 months of having it. im tired of it sounding horrible. What muffler would sound excellent that doesnt cost more then, uhh, $250. Also, did ne1 ever hear the Apexi N1 on our cars? how does it sound?

the n1 muffler is WAY loud dude, and all mufflers change tone after a while of being on your car as carbon stuff builds up inside and changes the harmonics or whatever......what exhaust systems have u tried? are they cat back? and if so, what size diameter piping?

The Dynamax Ultra-flo mufflers have a nice deep tone...

My cheap OBX axel back muffler sounds great, and it freed up a few ponies as well.

a muffler is the hardest mod for your car IMO because you have to meet alot of requirements like will it fit? will it sound rice, deep, quiet? how much HP will i lose? is it a perforated core? what about backpressure?

I have a Ractive muffler

I have a ractive muffler with 2.25 cat back exhuast and its sounds great or it did sound great when my engine ran. I got alot of compliments on how it sounds or did sound. Alot of people told me it sounded alot like the Jetta in the F&F movie (I'm not saying I like F&F just giving an example). And alot of cars sound different because every engine is built different, for ex. alot of honda's are known for there fart sounding exhaust no matter what they do. I dont know the name of the muffler I just know I have the biggest one ractive makes.

Im just sick of my muffler, it starts to ping after 4,000 RPM. and im embarrassed for the way it sounds. so i dont know if i should go buy a muffler that is really good, as in a Greddy, Apexi, etc. so im just trying to see what people have and if they have ne complaints... but i mite try a Ractive.

Post RESONATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Install one! It will cure much of that raspiness. I have an N1 and before I installed the resonator it was HORRIBLE. Sounds much better now.

I have an Apexi Dunk, and I had the resonator taken off... It's loud as hell, but it sounds cool.
