best exhaust?

does any one know whats the best way to go when getting an exhaust? does that extra 1/4 make a diffrence? would it make me lose horsepower? i want a really deep sounding exhaust. nothing like these fart cans that come out of honda's. can anyone give me some suggestions on what to get? should i put a cat on? or just take it off?

I will tell you from Personal experience that the 1/4 does make a difference. if your gonna be n/a on a ga16 with bolt ons don't go pass 2" diameter pipe. I had 2.25 for about a year then after investigating and searching the web for answers I went to a local muffler shop and I had them install 2" inch piping and some old muffer I had laying around. The muffler was made by magnaflow.
Anyways let me tell you I gained noticeable low end torque. I did not lose any high end. My mods are 2" cat back with straight through muffler, monsterflow intake with adapter, and UR pulley.
Hope that helps.

greddy sounds a little expensive for a boy still in high school and not getting enough hours at work. but i was thinking about an apexi. i like the n1 but i just saw the ws and i think that would fit perfect on my nx. this guy i know told me to go to miami muffler for mandrel bent with flanges for 100. he told me he can get me a good deal. id have to buy my own muffler seperate and they would put it on. plus they might be able to give me a test pipe so i can run it with out a cat. it sounds to good to be true but ill still check it out just incase.

and by the way about the whole search thing. i like it how people after me ask the same questions but ughh. no one tells them to search. its just kinda d*ck. and they get their questions answered.

I have a Stillen cat-back. And it sounds great and its soo easy to install it was ridiculous. It's kinda pricey. But i live really close to them and they have open-house events and i snagged it for $25. Really good deal.

Don't get rid of the CAT. The performance pick up isn't that great, espically when you compare it to your pollution out put. Our CAT's I believe are 2" inner diameter and have good flow. I'm running 2" cat back with a Borla muffler ($100). The sound it good and the pickup was quite nice. The only problem I had with the installation is I bought the wrong muffler and had to have it put in permanently by a shop.
