OMG, engine ....dieing....badthings all came at once
I dont know where to begin.......stupid fuking shop replace both front rotator with an inch smaller than my orginal one, just found out after driven 6 months, got them redone few weeks ago. now engine start burning oils at an unacceptable rate, 1 and 1/3 quart a week, this start happening after turn off overdrive. seen huge amount of smoke came out of my car while driving. then got hit by stupid old guy from behind, my insurance going to raise again.........after the crash, the car sounds like a hole in my exhaust.......bumper.....front and back............................................oh hhhhh my god.......
sorry for the complains......is my engine dieing? I have 1998 200sx se. there is no leak at all, checked. while driving the car, sometimes when i step on gas, there is no power to the wheel, after few sec then the car will start speed up......please let me know what happen....i like my car... this is my first car..oh now the car have 75k miles...owned 2 and half years....love it.....try to keep it as long as possible......
do a compression test, sounds like you have worn piston ring(s), all 4 cylinders should get somewhere around 199psi(correct this info if it's wrong) when the engine is warmed up. then go ahead and check spark plugs, plug wires, cap and all the other stuff you do on a tune-up.

First, if you were rear-ended, your insurance rates will not raise. Second, what is a 'rotator'? After 75k miles you probably dont need a new motor if you keep up with maintance. Hell, even DSMs arent that bad. Do you do your own oil changes?
If you want to check for holes in your exhaust, unhook your brake booster vacuum line, pour a little transmission fluid or seafoam into a jar and suck it up SLOWLY. You'll know if you have a leak. Remember to reattach your vacuum line.
I dont think this is your compression if the lack of power happened all of a sudden. Im guessing there are no check engine lights? You might want to take your car to a nissan dealer and have them look it over. This is more of a visually aided question.
