Ga16de Distributor

I need to GA16de distributor has, is it optical, Hall, etc?
Does the ecu control timming or is it controlled by the distributor only?
Thanks a lot, i really need to know this because im building a MegaSquirt ECU and I need to know this.

Ecu controls timing advance and retard but assumes base timing is within factory spec.

the CPS in the distrubutor is optical

Thanks to both answers, ive been reading a lot today about the GA16de and got the same conclusions you said, its optical and the ecu controls timing.
