1/4 mile times? Sounds like a cool setup but this thread is about 1/4 times....

This was the best run my car did at the 1/4 mile with slight slipage on the clutch and me 240lbs. It proved to me that these engines have lots of potential, if my clutch werent sliping i think it might of gotten a 16.8 in the 1/4. Beefing up the power to at least 140hp can have you running high 14 just my calculations.

Model: N14 1992 Nissan Pulsar, X1R, Hatchback
Engine: GA16DE
Kilometers on ODO: 265,613 km & still going strong
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
Engine Mods: NADA!
Exhaust System: RPS muffler, 4" tip, (Genie Extractors on there way from Aussie can't wait!)
Suspension: Lowered on Pedders Suspension Springs front & rear
Wheels: Racing Zone 17" with 205/40 low profiles
Air Intake: Custom made intake pipe (Beyond MotorWorks - AKLD,NZ) with POD Filter.
Petrol Choice : Mobil 98' Octane (Don't know if it really helps - just a peace of mind I guess)
Reaction Time: .253
60ft' : 2.501
1/8 mile : 10.948 secs
1/8 speed : 102.20 km/hr
1/4 mile : 17.155 secs
1/4 mile speed : 127.07 km/hr

GOAL TIME : Anything under 16.5 before end of season.

This has been my trusting and reliable every day go to work car, nothing but 1 flat tyre and an oil leak that was quickly fixed for the last 5 years. If the motor goes, another GA16DE will happily take its place.
1/4 mile time can be improved by not changing into 4th gear with 20 metres to go on the damn strip stupid I know! 3rd gear can easily handle 145 km/hr. Next race day 16th November 2007 NightSpeed DragWars Meremere will post next times. The 1/4 mile time prior to this one posted was a 17.366 with a .145 reaction time I can't change gears for !@#$ so might look at getting Short Shifter Kit.
