Hotsots Header

Benn thinking of buying this header in the next 3 months, after a LENGTHY discussion with the local nissan performance shop here in town they told me they refuse to even INSTALL the Hotshot headers anymore, because according to them they dont fit, and on several occasions they bailed on runs they were hosting or shipped headers without any gaskets or bolts.

Anyone else had installation problems with the HS Headers on the GA16DE, and if so what were they and how did you fabricate a fix. Based on what I've seen here on the forums the HS Headers are the best headers for our cars, but based on the shops input theyre more trouble than they are worth, input would be appreciated.

FYI I have a lot of faith in this shop, I've seen a lot of their project cars and they DO know what they are talking about, wondering if they just had a bad run of luck or if their claims are valid.

Please use the search button as this has been discussed before but i was once a newbie.

HotShot is the best header for the GA16. Pacesetter is just a cheap copy of the older gen header. Hotshot has never included gaskets with their headers. You also have to buy another cat if you dont have a 2nd cat and make a new bung for the O2 sensor.

Okay, your stock exhaust manifold has a built in catalytic converter. Many B14's have a 2nd under car cat while others dont. It all depends on your location. I have a federal model but still have two cats.

Say you dont have the under car cat and you replace the exhaust manifold with the hotshot header, now you will not have any catalytic convertor therefore causing your car to pollute more and if applicable, will not pass state emissions.

Obviously the guy/s you talked with have no clue and probably were BS'ing you... The HS header is the best fitting, best performance...best header on the market for our cars.... period.

I'm suprized everyone always says this....maybe the current header is a copy, I don't know, but pacesetter was the first company to ever make a header for the GA16DE that I know of. It was certainly providing it long before hotshot even considered the GA16DE, so those are definitely not copys. Of course I'm not implying that pacesetter is nearly as good as hotshot though.

i hope the hotshot header does fit. cause i just bought one of a guy in gainsville. i saw pictures and it looks like it should fit right in. and i already have an extra pair of gaskets from my other motor.

alright. i found out some info from my friend that the newer ga16 have a second cat. and that will prevent the headers to go on smoothly. that u would have to take to get it welded on. unlike my car. 93 jdm on a 91 nx, it should go on smoothly

I installed my own hotshot header and everything fit up perfectly. It came with all the parts they said it'd come with. No regrets and no complaints with it at all.

a lot of shops are scared to work on our cars(nissan) because they are not as popular as hondas so shops dont have the experience necessary to be confident so they bullshit a lot so they dont look like rookies when they cant do the job.......

I believe you are mistaken... The pacesetter header currently being sold on the market today is a copy of the first generation HS header...except made a lot cheaper... if you've ever seen them side by side you'd be amazed..

and the Pacesetter is made in China or some crap like that...The HS is made right here in the US and not on an essembly line....
