Lightbulb Clutch Replacement

Great news! I've come to accept the fact that I have to replace my stock clutch, being as it is on it's last leg, I'd rather replace it now before it blows, rather than be stuck in college with a blown out clutch, since I'm leaving in about 4 weeks!

So here's the question: Since I'm replacing the clutch, I figure I might as well go big and throw a Stage 2 Clutch Master in there, but honestly I don't know much about clutches to begin with, besides that Stage 2 is the best. Is there a great difference between the other stages? Should I get a Clutchmaster or ACT? Is there a huge difference between the brands? Has anybody replaced their clutch, if so how is it?

I also lifted the car up and noticed the CV Joint was leaking. My supervisor told me that the CV Joint has to be removed in order to remove/install clutch, should I have them replace the CV Joint while it's all taken apart? My sup. says I should and to get a Remanufactured Ball Axle, or something like that? I know even less about the CV Joint problem than I do the clutch so any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I believe Clutch stages go all the way up to stage 4 but dont quote me on that. The higher the stage number the harsher the engagement and less "streetable" they become.I did a clutch replacement myslef about 8 months ago, working on it for about 6 hours a day for 3 days having never worked on a car in my life. I also had bad looking cv joints so i just went to my local autoparts store and got new ones with a lifetime warrenty. My replacement clutch was a centerforce Heavy Duty clutch however if i were to do it again i would have gone with ACT. Also, make sure the surface of your flywheel is lookin good. And if you have the money, i would recommend a lightweight flywheel while everything is off. If you decide you want one later you will wish you had done it when you had everything apart.
