I hooked up my tach and followed many procedures on how to hook up the tach and they all said the same wiring. the tach works and glows but heres the problem. it reads wrong.I know cuz i used a diagnostic computer from the dealership and my tach read 2000 rpm but the diagnostic computer said 4000 rpm , why is it reading wrong.

check on the back and there might be a witch that changes it form 8 to 6 to 4 cyls. look for that i had to do that with mine becase might wasn`t reading right. try that. let me know if that doesn`t work. and it might help i have a apc tach.
