cyl 2 not firing, crap

okay guys i'm kinda stumped. about a week ago my engine started chugging and misfiring every so often... or so i thought. I drove to work this morning and it chugged pretty bad so i went out and bought some plugs and wires, same thing my buddy did to fix his altima with the same symptoms.

so long story short it did the same thing with new plugs/wires and i pulled the plug wires to check for a change. and after pulling number two there was no difference.

help?

Buy a spark tester and make sure your getting a spark on #2. Take a look inside your distributor for anything obvious.

Get a screwdriver and put it on your #2 injector and put the handle near your ear and see if you can hear it clicking. If you dont, then replace the injector. Actually, you should make sure your even getting a signal to the injector first. Maybe you can find a NOID light somewhere and plug it into the injector connector. Or just a test light =P either way, the light should blink pretty fast. If it doesnt blink, you got bigger problems and I pity your wallet.

thanks for the advice man, i resolved it though. there was spark on that cylinder so i had to try the injectors, from there all i had to do was clean the injector where it connects to the wiring harness. fires again, w00t!

NOTE: I do like though how when I had a real problem it took 2 and a half days for anyone to respond and when someone has a completely retarded question four people respond in the next half hour... :/

Complicated problems dont usually attract a lot of people, the "retarded" threads are easier for more people to figure out I guess.

Some people are busy and will respond whenever they get time, you just have to check back a little later =)

I totally hear you on that one. I was really active back before NF went through the big change and became n00b central. Hell, I'm a contributor to the KA bible over in the 240SX general section, not in the thread, but the actual swap R&D. what a blast that was.
