How to replace spark plug tube seals?

I hope someone can help me with this. I got new spark plug tube seal and tried to replace them this morning. So I find this stupid plastic cover on the underside of the cover. So I figure it must just pop off. Well I start prying on it and it breaks it about 20 pieces. SO I was able to put the new seals in. BUT now need the plastic cover. My wonderful stealer says that the seals arn't serviceable and must buy a new valve cover for 140 bucks. So now I need to find a new stealer after dirty F'in thives. So is there a way around this? This is the most rediculous nonsense.

You can replace the seals, others have done this in the past. Now that you have busted the VC you need to replace it though, look for aused on here on the forums or in a junk yard and save yourself a hundred bucks.

You can also get the valve-cover from the B13 GA16 cars. They are metal and have replaceable seals and such.

I think your problem is that you have a newer B14 car (like a 200sx) that has a plastic valve cover. I ran in to this same problem and on those the seals are not replaceable and they want you to buy the whole new valve cover for a bunch of money (I thought it was a joke too). You are still OK though as you can just go get a B13 valve cover and put your new seals in that one as it fits just the same as the plastic one. That is what I did because then when the seals start leaking again I just need to buy the seals which are a lot cheaper. When I did my change over I just went to the local junkyard and the valve cover is pretty cheap. You can leave it as is and just clean it up or I actually used black wrinkle paint on mine and sanded down the raised letters to make it look better.

Go to a junkyard, and pick one up.

You can also use one from a B13, 90-94, it's white, and aluminum. BE SURE TO KEEP THE BOLTS, AS THEY ARE SHORTER/LONGER THAN THE PLASTIC COZVER(dont remember if its shorter or longer, i just remember that part.) Just make sure to buy a new B13 gasket.

I pick them up for around $15-40, depending how much of an ass the guys are.
