Engine ID Numbers?

Does anyone know where to find the casting number on nissan 4's? I've got a 91 sentra with what should be a 1.6. The valves are knocking so I took off the valve cover to to a job on 'em and they're hydralic. Looking at my book, the 1.6 in the 91 sentra should be solid cams and adjustable, so I'm thinking the motor's been replaced. Any thoughts? Thanks, Kevin

maybe to a newer engine Im not sure but I believe they are solid cam I havent looked under my valves in a minute
