I'm having the apparently common idle stalling problem with my 94 sentra. I've printed out the posts about cleaning the IACV which I will try. I also plan to check the hoses. My question, if I remove/replace a vacuum hose, do I have to do something to re-create the vaccum, or will that happen on it's own when the car is started? I know just enough to get myself in trouble...

Yes just replace the hoses, the engine makes the vaccum when it runs when the throttle plate is closed.
