well.. the other day i forgot to plug the MAF in and i started the car.. clug clug on goes the CEL. so i turned the car off. plugged it back in, CEL stays on. i've unplugged and plugged it in, i've reset the ECU 2 times with the knob in the back, everything. when i reset it today it was off for a while then came on in a few miles. i keep getting error code #12. MAF Short or Circut Open.. / car seems to run fine though, no surging rpms no wild rpms either..

so whats going on?

well i got a B13 that im going to swap MAF's with even though the old B13 one is metal and i'm going to try that, if not i'll know it's something else.. i just feel weird using the B13 MAF cus it's so small. :|

It takes a certain number of driving cycles for the code to go away, although I would think if you tried to clear it, it'd work as well. If you don't notice any problems with the car, then keep driving for a while and see if the code goes away. What car do you have? I wouldn't try using the B13 MAF unless you have a B13 already.
