New(ish) clutch issue

i took my 98 200sxSE to my dads bud (been our family mechanic for over 20 years) to have my clutch swapped out and when i got it back about 7 months ago i noticed theres a lot of room on top of the pedal (can push it down about 1 1/2 inches before the clutch starts to disengage. the guy who worked on it said it would go back to normal on its own, but 7 months later i still have the same issue
was wondering what may be the issue here, a friend says it may be that they didnt bleed the fluid when they did it, i think he may be right
let me know what ya'll think
thanks

You can try to adjust this by adjusting the freeplay of the clutch pedal. Adjust the pedal stopper, and then tighten the lock nut.
