Tach signal (no I'm not hooking up a tach)
I am in the process of troubleshooting a car. Two questions...
1.) I thought that the tach signal wire had an AC frequency which changed depending on engine rpm's. Meaning the frequency would increase or decrease depending on if the engine was at 1000 rpm's or 4000 rpm's.
2.) Is the signal different from the distributor coil negative wire and the output for the tach wire from the ECM/ECU/PCM?
Can anyone help me out on this one?
