reasons an alternator can keep dying?

ive gone through about 4 alternators in the past month and a half.
i dont have the air duct on the alternator but a lot of other people said they didnt have it on either.
i just replaced the battery terminals.
could i be putting the accesorry drivebelt on too tight?
thanks

is your front oil seal leaking..letting oil onto the belt and than flinging it all over that side of the engine?

actually it turns out it wasnt my alternator this time!!
so replacing the cracked battery terminal must have fixed it.
its just not starting very well in the cold. i have to give it a few trys before it starts.
new starter???

Sounds to me like a bad battery cable maybe, either that or a starter on it's way out.

Next time your alternator goes out make SURE they replace it with a Mitsubishi and NOT a Hitachi.. That should last you atleast a few years.

On my 94 Sentra XE I was going through Hitachi alternators once a year atleast.

(How exactly do you replace a cracked battery terminal..?)
