Timing Chain Parts, what's this called?

Was wondering what's the part called, the one with the arrow pointed at?

That is another tensioner to go witht the one that is marked.. Its hydraulic...thus the passages are for oil flow. Hope that helps..

hmmm, when ordering parts from the store the options for timing chain's tension is only:
Tensioner
Guide

I've already ordered the tensioner considering that it is the part, but now returning it because it is only one part of the tensioner. I need the part where the arrow is pointed, so i think it proberlly is the Guide.

IT does function as a guide but the simple fact is that it provides tension for the chain.. (along with the tensioner listed in the pic).. How they refer to it may vary, but a tensioner is a tensioner... IVe got 2 in the basement. And after several Dozen different timing jobs, I think I know what to call things..
But that doesnt mean your parts supplier will call it the same thing. Id take the pic to the parts store with you.. If I remember correctly it was cheaper to get mine through the dealer than aftermarket anyway.

I see, i'll try the dealer if they still ordered the wrong part/s. Yea, i brought the actually piece to the store,"C.A.P.", and had them ordered it. Even with the piece, the worker needed to find a pic from the store book to know what it's actually called. If the worker were to look in the index to specify his search even more, i'd trust him, but he was just flipping through the pages like an idiot looking at oil pumps or some crap. Anyways, thanks a lot.

It is 100% most certainly the UPPER TENSIONER! It is not and should not be referred to as anything else.

thanks a mil for the info!! and i got more good news!! C.A.P. just ordered the wrong parts again!! the last guess , the guide, was really the guiding rail. Hahahha!!! at least i found out the name....

Hey since u guys are experts are that part of the car, could the upper tensioner be making a ticking noise if it's worn out? I've checked the chain, it seems to be still in good condition.

Yes if the upper tensioner is worn the chain will rattle.
