Oil pan removal ????

How hard is it to get off. I have already got the exhaust pipe off. It looks tight down by the transmission end, specially with the 2 studs on that end. The reason for removaling is because I have a leak between the oilpan and block. This is my wifes car just trying to fix it right for her. Thanks for the help.

Not terribly hard. The two nuts on the tranny side are difficult, I use a 1/4" drive socket and a swivel head, it works pretty good. Then use a scraper around the gasket. Do not pry or use a screwdriver as you will damage the block surface. If you have a hard time you can download the FSM from the sticky.

Also this is better placed in the appropriate engine section, which engine is in her car?

I didn't even know there was an engine section. I have used this website before for tech help. This is her daily car, I hate working the daily drivers (j/k). It has a 1.6liter in it. I'm from the "ford world", 03 cobra mustang, thats the toy. Thanks again for the help.
Those 2 studs on the tranny side, will the oil pan clear those. Also how do you get the the sheild between the motor and tranny off. I did download the sticky manual. I did notice I had to remove the sheild but couldn't firgure out to get it off, I did look at very long either, though.

to remove the plastic shield, there are a few bolts on the front (towareds teh bumper). I believe there might be 4, definitly two. its been a while. Just make sure if you drop the oil pan to use a good amount of sealant. I didn't and now i have to do it all over again.

Are you talking about the dust shield on the tranny? If so you have to remove the tranny to get to that, or is this an AT car?
