and i dont have the air duct thing for it.
and i need my car tomorrow.
is there anything else i could do?
like put a pipe or something going from where my fog lights are supposed to be, to my alternator.
i was thinking with that white vinyl hose they use for dryers, its only going to be temporary.
and i just need something to keep it cool right?

I don't have any kind of part that would be described as an Air duct on mine.
I looked at lunch.....
And the car has been mine since new, has the original Alternator.
The only Air flow related part anywhere close is the shroud for the Fan.
The Alternator has a built in Fan, so be careful you don't obstruct it as that will hinder Air flow.
I have not heard of anyone doing this or it being necessary.
its just a little plastic thing.
it said in the directions with the new one to take it off my old one and put it on my new one, but i already traded in my old one.
heres the directions:
but today i was tightening the tensioning bolt and it broke in half... and i cant get it out. so my car isnt going to be working today anyway.

Well mine does not have that air duct thing, neither does my daughters 97 SER
Cant believe the 96 is different to the 97 Did yours actually have one ?
Sorry about your bolt braking....
hope you get it out and replace it OK

Ouch. Sorry to hear that.
In any case, my 98 200sx never came with that bracket either. I wonder if that's really a GA specific TB or if it's a general thing that's really intended for some other Nissan engines...
mine had one on there when i took my alternator off, but i gave it to them when i traded in my alternator.
maybe i dont need it?
Ok I will take a position and say you don't need it because my car doesn't have one and I cant find this in the FSM.
So I am assuming the part is used on another car or even another make.
How you managed to have this part and then have the instructions show up in a rebuilt box say's its possible this was on a previous replacement alternator.
If anyone reads this that does have this Air duct please speak up if I am wrong.
I have one. Came on a remaned one. My origanal did not have one.
i just replace my alternator and now my pas. window dose not work or my dome light. I have checked all fuses and have not found eny bad ones. Eny sudjestions?
p.s. sorry for the spelling and "hi jacking' the thread.
