i've searched and searched and searched and couldn't find anything to help. my car idles like normal most of the time, but sometimes when you come to a stop after driving awhile the car revs up to 2000 rpm and then drops back down to normal several times fairly quickly. sometimes it hangs at 2000 until you take off again. i noticed that when it was warmer it didn't have this problem at all, but since it's cooled down some it has resurfaced. i've cleaned the iac valve like others who were having idle issues but it hasn't helped. there are some things done to/wrong with the car that are ghetto fixed or not fixed at all that i am wondering if they are contributing to the problem. here's the list: my rear o2 sensor is bad but i haven't replaced b/c i think it's only for emissions reasons, my egr is blocked off and the vaccum lines capped b/c the valve went bad and i live in a non emissions controlled state, 5 years ago i thought bypassing the throttle body coolant lines would give me extra hp, my intake temp. sensor is just hanging in the engine bay b/c i have a cai. sorry for the long post, but my wife is driving the car now and the idle is driving her crazy. thanks for any suggestions or advice in advance.

TB coolant lines. The TB has a FICD built in that when heats up lowers the idle. I would bet that is causing some of the high idle issue. Re-attach the colant lines and see if it helps.
The EGR should not effect idle as long as the vacuum has been re-routed aorund it. I remove the EGR setup completely and also re-did the vacuum lines, no issues at all.
I thank youtoo, checked my lines they're filthy, quickly brushed the shit away, havn't had itstick since, gonna go back and clean it better and shit so this bs never happens again, thanks, i love quick fixes
