New to the site but probably the same old overheating question. The past two weeks my temperature gauge will almost reach high after traveling on the freeway for about twenty to thirty minutes. The tempertaure will be fine when on the freeway, but when I stop at a light it will climb until I start moving again. Short trips of 15-20 miles are no problem; the gauge reads in the middle. Also, the water in the reservoir is boiling after driving short or long distances, even when the temperature gauge is in the middle. The water pump was replaced two years ago. Any suggestions on where to start?

Could be a bad thermostat or excessive refrigerant in the A/C system which will cause too much head pressure resulting in excess heat in the condenser.
