No Top End

i recently put some aftermarket tires 31X10.50R15 on my 2000 frontier xe auto, the thing is that i have lost a lot of my top end exsepically in top gear between 1500 and 2000 once it goes past this it does better but not much. Just wondering what i could do for more pormance in top gear,

can someone tell me a cheap and/or the better and more expensive and what you would recommend

besides telling me to buy a new one

thx

What size tire did you have before?
Don't forget, if they were smaller, your speedo is reading low.

But, it's a common complaint when people go to larger tires.
A lot of people change to a lower gear ratio (higher number).
Do you have 4wd? If so, you've got to change gears in both diffs.

Well, you jumped up 5" in overall diameter

I'll try to paste in the specs...

Section Width: 8.46 in 215 mm
Section Width: 10.51 in 267 mm

Rim Diameter: 15 in 381 mm
RimDiameter: 15 in 381 mm

Rim Width Range: 6 - 7.5 in
Rim Width Range: 7 - 9 in

Overall Diameter: 26.00 in 660.4 mm
Overall Diameter: 30.97 in 786.63 mm

Sidewall Height: 5.50 in 139.7 mm
Sidewall Height: 7.98 in 202.69 mm

Radius: 13.00 in 330.2 mm
Radius: 15.48 in 393.19 mm

Circumference: 81.68 in 2074.6 mm
Circumference: 97.29 in 2471.1 mm

Revs per Mile: 800
Revs per Mile: 671.6

Speedometer1: 60 mph 100 km/h
Speedometer2: 50.3 mph 83.9 km/h

Speedometer Difference: 19.11% too slow Diameter Difference: 16.05%

OK, the table came in as "top number" = original size, "bottom number" = new size. So now, when your speedo is reading 70 MPH, you're actually doing 83 MPH. Your top end just got a little farther away according to your speedo.
