first of all hello to all in nissan nation... trying to help my newphew. has a 2001 nissan frontier 6 cylinder with supercharger... he ran it out of gas last night when he tried putting gas back in it the truck would not start. has put at least a half tank of fuel in it and nothing.. checked all fuses and good.. I put a fuel filter on today for him and still not cranking .. I don't that much about the nissans, I took the sparkplug wire off the distributor and there is no fire jumping to the wires.. Now if I"m not mistaken the problem could be the crankshaft position sensor or the engine computer.. could someone verify this for me to see if I'm headed in the right direction... oh and the truck was running fine when he run out of gas... any help would be appreciated...AND ALSO I CHECKED THE FUEL PUMP AND ITS WORKING... THANKS AGAIN..
off the top of the head it should be around 180,000. belt has never been changed. and yes it was out of gas, idiot nephew thought he could driver across manchac bridge in louisiana with less than a 1/4 tank...
Belt replacement is required at 105,000 miles. The VG33 is an interference engine so valves and pistons probably got intimate. It's probably going to be expensive.
May not be a total coincidence. Did the engine backfire as it was running out of gas?
