Dip stick hanging up

Well I just bought a 04 crew cab with 28k on the clock. Changed the oil and when checking the oil level the dip stick will hang up after pulling it about 2-3 inches and will not come out. I have gotten it out a couple of times so I know it will come out but wondering if anyone else has experienced this and any advise.

How hard was it going in? Also, try turning it a little to free it if its in a bind. Had that happen once on a mastercraft, put it in backwards.

It seamed to go in normal I have tried turning it but still hangs up. Hoping not to have to pull the pan to see what is going on.
