Transmission question

I recently put a flowmaster muffler with duals on my 2000 frontie crew cab. It is V6. My question is, Has anyone else had an issue with when the truck is cold (first time driven all day) when the transmission shifts, it doesn't shift into overdrive until like after 2 or 3 miles? Then once it does it works fine. Just takes it a long time that initial time. Truck has 91000 on it.

I know the muffler and pipes have nothing to do with this, but now I notice it by hearing it not shifting.

I thought it wasn't supposed to go into overdrive till the engine was up to temp. This is normal for most vehicles.

You might be right, I just never noticed it until I put the louder exhaust on it.

My transmission isn't suppose to shift into OD until the engine is warmed to operating temperature but it still shifts into OD within a mile and the temp gauge isn't at the normal position. It odes make a difference if I'm driving on flat terrain or driving uphill though.
