On rare occasions, nothing happens when I turn the key. Another try or two and it starts as usual. Would like to diagnose this before it goes out. Truck is 5 speed King-cab with 120,000 + miles.
Could also be a faulty ignition switch.I had the same symptoms when mine went out on a B14 Sentra. Cost me $50 for a new one.The ignition switch is a round white plastic part with wires coming out of it located on the steering column opposite the lock cylinder. To access it, remove the black plastic cover on the column and you will see it right away.

Look under the dash at the clutch petal assembly. There will be 2 switches being activated when the clutch petal is depressed. One is the stop light switch. The other is the starting switch. I'm guessing a little here, but take a peek. I might be right.

To test for a faulty clutch pedal switch, just make a jumper wire and go around it.If it fixes the issue, you have found the problem. If not, it's either the ignition switch or the starter solenoid.
