Easy/Stupid question on Speakers

I tried searching, but no go. I'm needing to replace the stock door speaks in my 02. I'm just trying to get the specs/size info. Are they 5.25 or 6.5 ? I went to Crutchfield, plugged in my info & it was listing both sizes. Something seemed fishy with that.

I'm just trying to find out the physical size info. What diameter fits, & what's the max depth? Oh, I have manual windows if that makes a diff.

Please help, I can't stand listenting to my stockers anymore, they have a bad buzz going on when the bass hits. Thanks.

The 5.25" speakers will fit with an adaptor plate for the 6.5" hole or use 6.5" speakers.

Ok, cool, so I'll go with 6.5s, more sound & no adapter sounds good to me. What about depth? Will any speaker/magnet fit??

The Crutchfield guide lists speakers that will fit, not just the stock sizes. The web site will only show you the ones that fit. Can't find the brand you're looking for? Call a sales guy. He might tell you that the speaker you want will fit if you do a minor modification like grinding a tenth of an inch off of the inside of the speaker grille.

Hey BR, I just installed some speakers, & you have about 1.5" between the window & the door mounting surface. My replacement speaks were 3" deep, so I had to make a 1.5" thick spacer ring. It worked out fine, & the door panel had enough room, & went on fine.
