I have a 2WD NISMO (with a locker, obviously) and it is good in the snow. I've had a couple of 4WD's and it was overkill for the conditions here (Maine). If I lived in the moutains I'd probably had gone 4WD model. The tires are JUNK, so I imagine with a set of quality snows it would be much better. The NISMO was a perfect compromise for me, but I have no illusion that it is as capable as a 4 by.

i bought my truck about 2 years ago..and since i live in central florida and don't drive off road except for the occasional dirt road, i opted for the less expensive SE, had i know i might be moving to the mountains i probably would have gone with the 4x4 also...but that was 2 years ago...didn't start looking into moving until the last couple months...

Keep the 2 wheeler and do what everyone else does in North Carolina, stay home when it snows.
