Well I have a 03 frontier XE 4X4 V6 and I have put a an K&N intake and flowmaster 40 cat back system on it. What else could I do for better performance? I've looked at the TBS but I'm not really sure about them. I'm thinking of getting Hellwig performance traction control springs $74.99 # BAM476322X on jcwhitney.com Thanks again -Jack
What do you mean by tune up? Money, well I can get loans from my boss he's the best boss
tune-up; replace spark plugs, filters (air and fuel), check timing if applicable, check the cap, rotor, and plug wires, could include an oil change with filter, test the battery, and coolant, cant think of anything else at the moment.

well all that is good but it's not due for that yet. I'm thinking along the lines of performance upgrade
What kind of performance are you looking for? High end, low end, off the line? The VG33 is not particularly receptive to performance upgrades (Nissan only got 210 HP out of it with supercharging. That is only 64 HP per liter. The KA24DE gets 60 HP per liter and the normally aspirated VG33 only gets 52 HP per liter.) The real answer, although it's the most painful, is to save your sheckels for something else (e.g. 05+ Frontier).
uuumm low end and off the line, i've put about $1,700 in to it already. 05+ not gonna happen anytime soon.
I'd agree with Jerry to check out the possibility of nitrous. Your reliability is going to be based on how often you use the bottle, how well you've dialed it in, and how much "boost" are you using. Most of the other less expensive changes (exhaust, cold air, throttle body spacer) typically only help the mid and high range (breathing and density improvements). The only other ideas that come to mind are a colder thermostat (180 degrees versus 195 degree that is probably stock) to force it to run a little richer and, if available, changing the cams.

jerry I thought of that too but in the long run how is she gonna hold up to nitrous?
Like azrocketman said, "reliability is going to be based on how often you use the bottle, how well you've dialed it in, and how much "boost" are you using", and how strong the internals are on these things. Lots of nitrous kits can be set up to spray at WOT and only up to a specified RPM limit. Using that setup and starting with the low end of whatever jets are included (maybe a 50HP shot?) may be safe. Unless someone that has done this chimes in, you may be the first on the block. One other thing I'd be concerned with is how well (or poorly) the rear tires will hook up with the extra HP. Do you already have a LSD? You may need some rear suspension mods to get it to hook up; unless you're just looking to win a smoke-'em-up contest

Everybody has great ideas on engine power, but if want to get off the line, you need the correct gear ratio in your differential. This is going to give you a big bang for the least amount of bucks.
