Lift Kit Effect on Hauling Capability

Does adding a lift kit (suspension or body) do anything to affect the hauling capacity? Negatively or positively? I've actually hauled 2,000lbs with my truck stock and was just curious what will happen after I lift it.

Thanks for any advice/input.

the biggest thing that will affect towing capabilities are larger tires, these will make your gearing higher. you may notice handling characteristics on windy days too.

A lift kit will not increase your payload capacity. Putting progressive rate leaf spings or helper springs will. I had a set I installed on my 94 pickup. Got them at JC Whitney, got a rear torsion bar from them too, worked great.
