05 grille aluminum and painted plastic?

Am I correct in that the 2005 Trail Blazer's grille is a combination of aluminum and painted plastic? The whole thing looks like real chrome.

Are you a convert too? I dumped my '03 Trailblazer for a '05 Frontier.

I removed my Frontier grill and IIRC it was entirely made of plastic.

Yes it is plastic and already has some rock chips in it. I am not sure if the chrome plastic or the paint chips more easily.

The sad thing is, you can't just buy the chrome plastic piece if you need a replacement. It comes as a whole grille assembly for about $160.
