For the last two weeks, I've actually been using my Frontier as a TRUCK.

What a change of pace for me and my truck. Usually, it's just cruising up and down the highway as a commuter. Oh, there's been the occassional piano or other piece of furniture to move, but for the past two weeks I've been working on building a screened porch. I've hauled quite a bit of lumber and concrete with my "little" Frontier.

It's done well too, I think. Twelve foot lumber was a bit awkward but not too bad. I had all of my 16' lumber delivered (quite a bit of that). I made a couple of trips for concrete (about 2000# all together). In one trip I had 12, 80# bags of concrete between the wheel wells. That was probably the heaviest load. Between that payload of 960#, me, my son, fuel, etc., I'd guess we hit the 1315# VEHICLE LOAD WEIGHT CAPACITY. The truck did well though. It was just a little light in the steering; nothing that affected the handling, just a slight but noticeable difference. I probably could have taken care of that by dropping a couple of more bags in front of the wheel well load.

Anyway, just thought I share the fact that my little '04 had been doing its job and doing it well

Hauling long sections of wood is one area where I miss my old Ranger with the sliding read glass. Although I like the look of the one piece in my CC, the slider was great for bringing home 12'+ sections of wood.

I had 1,000lbs in the back when I bought the wood swingset, was impressed at how well the truck dove with that much weight in the back.

I've been getting great use out of my frontier. I'm in the process of replacing all the bark in my yard with crushed red cinder rock. I've moved about 8,000lbs so far. I get about 1,500lbs per load but have hauled as much as 1,900lbs a couple times. I has proven to be one hell of a truck.
