I would like to install a supercharger or turbocharger in my 2004 long bed nissan frontier. It does not currently have one. Does anyone know how to do this or where to find info on this?
Are you looking for off the line power? A turbocharger is exhaust driven and, because it is "fluid coupled" to the engine, may have a delay until it produces boost (it needs time to "spool up"). The supercharger is mechanically coupled to the engine (drive belt) and can produce more instantaneous power. Turbochargers have the advantage that they have more minimal power losses as they use "waste" heat from the engine to pressurize the intake charge. Superchargers, being a mechanical pump, are always drawing engine power even if they are not being utilized. If you are looking for occasional "instant" power a nitrous system may be easier to install and cheaper.
Thanks for the advice. I am just looking for 30-50 hp. I currently have 190hp. It feels more sluggish than I prefer on take off, passing, and towing. I think I will try a factory SC off ebay
If you only want 30-50 horse power, then go with N.O.S.
ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, trade that week 04 in for a 05 or 06 with way more than the 30-50 horse that you say you want
We have 265 horse power, stock
othern the S/C is thier major diffrences to the internal on the 3.3L N/A id love to throw a S/C on my truck and put a new ecu. i just need more a bit more power. when i got he truck i lost over 200hp that i was used to in my other car.
