06 woofers upgrade

Anyone upgrade these? I want to upgrade my fockford system. I was going to put dvd nave in it lik emy 350z had but the system sounds good and i like my steering wheel controls.

I would like to get the bass out of my front door speakers and have it come only from the rear woofer box. Just wondering if anyone has put stronger woofers in there with an upgraded amp. Also what size is in there?

Yea bro im wantin to do the exact same thing. I also notice the bass comin from the doors. The only thing I could think of to stop this and keep the stock speakers are gettin some aftermarket corss overs. I know there are some you can wire into speakers...not like the bigger ones you get from a componet system. But i dont know how this would work witht he stock wire harners taht comes with all the stock speakers. (not sure i havnt riped mine out yet) Im also gonna be puttin in my Alpine IVA-D300 unit in...its a 7in flip out DVD monitor..so I have yet to see how that is gonna make everything sound. But i am looking for custom boxes to fit 1-2 10" 's in the back.

Also the deal with the stearing controls...I belive there is somtin you can buy from bestbuy so you can still use them. Someone at the clubfrontier.org site told me that one.

You can put a capacitor across the speaker at the door. I dont recall what size you need though. Crutch field sells them for $10 each. Like i said basicly its a capacitor and it has shrink wrap over it. Its like $1 at radioshack.

you want a "bass blocks" for the front speakers as well as the rear doors. you will have to splice into the speaker wires but its an easy install and will make a world of difference.

thats exactly what I was thinkin of...just didnt think of linkin it up. thanks bro.

So its just a quick splice and your done? I may have to do this. The RF system is ncie as it is...I dont wana tear it out for componets. this may be what I need.

Also, more on the sub thing. Im hangin out at the clubfrontier.org place...and theres this dude makin a box for 2 10's that fits right under the rear seat of the CC. Its lookin prety good so im keepin an eye on that and when he starts sellin them I may pick one up. only shitty thing is im gonna have to wait like 3 weeks or so. Oh well...itl be worth it I think.

i doubt its gonna have 2 10's. the box he is copying is only setup for a single 10" or 2 8's. there just isnt enough space under the seats to provide enough cubic feet. there are places that sell the boxes for the single 10" or the two 8's. i will post it in a second. have to find it again. plus i think he's talking about using plastic for the boxes and i dont think they will sound that good unless they have a load of baffles inside to keep the box from distorting.

This is the link to his box style...let me know what ya think. Im not familer with the material but I know some truck boxes have a plastic like material and it sounded fine.

not a big fan if that two 10's setup. first it only has the wiring input for one so that means your running two speakers running off the same wire. second, i dont want to give up both storage trays. i have to have somewhere to keep my cleats for my rail system. a single 10" should be more than enough in a truck this size. as far as the two 10's behind the seat i dont think the 05-06's have enough space behind them. i could be wrong. i know one of the guys running something like that has spacers under his seat so it sits higher. also back on the box setup for the two 10's, each speaker needs so much space of its own. the way it looks is the 2 speakers share the same space. that is gonna effect the way the speakers sound. oh by the way, i am mylt1 over there as well as another frontier forum.

Yea I hear ya...I dunno, I think it looks good...but Ill still prob only go with the 1 10" set up. The whole wireing the two together isnt that big a deal...Ive done it with all my subs, dosnt effect it any...just bridged the amp and ran the subs in series and your good to go. But im lookin to buy rims before the system anyway so itl be some time.
