Unhappy Not feeling the love from my new CAI

I just installed a NISM0 CAI and quite honestly I am disappointed. It seems as if I've lost torque, big time. Mid range and upper it sounds wicked and goes normally. When I step on the throttle, it makes gasping noises (maybe a normal sound as b/c CAI you hear every intake noise). I don't know, could be that the sounds are messing with my brain, because as I see it it's impossible to lose torque w/a CAI (as opposed to say an exhaust that affects back pressure). The MAF is connected, all clamps are tight, etc. I didn't disconnect the battery so the best case scenario is that could be the problem, but I doubt that highly and the instructions didn't mention that. My other mod is a TBS -- and I swear I saw some gain with that thing verses the CAI.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day and I will be installing my JBA exhaust!

The gasping noise is normal. It is a combination of what is called injector roar and the sound of the air entering the filter.

I am not suprised that you lost low end power that is pretty typical of a CAI with no tuning to correct for the new intake flow.

Your CAI is trying to breath. Wait till you get your new exhaust. Wow, what a difference.

Precisely. I put on my JBA and it woke it up. I can't believe the difference.

LOL...yes there's nothing worse than that sinking feeling of spending money and time on mods that don't work.
