has anyone tried using rain x rain repellant on their windshield's? or piaa wiper blades?
I've only used it a couple of times (several years back) so I can't speak to how it holds up, but I did have the impression that if I had to use my wipers it was much less effective. So, I guess the wipers "wipe" some of it off; don't know what the long term effect is on the wiper blades.
Anyway, the times I used it, I was impressed. Unless it was a heavy rain, I actually was able to drive down the highway without using my wipers. The rain drops would quickly slide up & off of the windshield.

Yeah, Rain-X is pretty neat. However, from my experience in years gone by, once you start using it, you can't stop. If you go too long between applications, the water stops rolling off and your wipers will streak the heck out of the windshield.
So, it does work well, but be ready to keep re-applying it.

I use it all the time on both my vehicles and it works good. You will have to re-apply it every so often, I normally do it the in the spring and then in the fall before the first snow. If you replace you wipers at a regular intreval (I replace mine once a year) they do fine. I've never noticed any streaking on my truck, but that may be because I re-apply the rain-x and replace my wiper blades regularly...

I can second this. It works really well but sooner or later it will rub off and need to be reapplied. Think of it as Turtle Wax for your windshield.
Don't forget to put it on your side mirrors and your headlights too.

I have used the RainX before and it works well, but just like every one else said. Be ready to reapply to get your fix of seeing those mercury balls roll of the windshiled.
As for the Piaa blades my brother has them on his Teg now(just installed them). They work VERY well and the guy from the local performance shop that sold them to him has been having the same pair for 3 years now and still work very effectively.
I agree with the other three, it works great. I've also been looking for a good set of wiper blades for a while, and have to say the Rain-X blades work great with or without Rain-X
I'm a big fan of Rain-X and awhile back I started using the Rain-X brand washer fluid. It's more expensive than the regular washer fluid but seems to work almost as well Rain-X and re-application is, of course, easy. Cost is probably made up by not having to buy Rain-X itself.
Beware, though, that if you have a "star" in your windshield you won't be able to get one of those "quick fixes" to keep the star from running because the Rain-X chemicals get into the cracks and won't allow the quick-fix chemicals to bind with the glass. If you had a star and got the quick fix, don't use Rain-X because it might dissolve the chemicals. I don't have personal experience with this, but I've heard and read about it numerous times.
