Airaid Combo Intake/TBS

I'm thinking of doing the combo for improved throttle response and gas milage. Not looking for top end power or a noisey system. I like to add more low end power and response (driveability). How do you guys rate the combo? Does the throttle body spacer really make a difference on mileage and throttle response? I've never been sold on these intakes. None ever made a difference on previous vehicles so I'm a bit hesitant.

I have the AirAid combo on my truck and like it! The CAI is not loud, unless you really tromp it! Under normal driving, you'll never know it's there. The TBS help my low to mid range torque. I feel it mostly when I merge onto the highway and have to get on it to safely merge into traffic. As far as gas mileage, it did help mine. I was getting about 15.8 MPG before adding them, and it increased to 17.5 MPG after the install.

I also added a Grounding Kit, and I got 19.75 MPG this last tankfull, and that's the same daily commute as the other two mileage figures! So, considering I have the Frontier model that gets the worst gas mileage (Automatic NISMO 4X4), I'm very satisfied with the results!

Wow. That's really an impressive gain on gas mileage. I thought maybe .3 or .5 MPG. I'm averaging 17.3 - 17.8 MPG stock. So I should see close to 19MPG? How does the combo compare to stock. Was it more power than expected? How much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking?

I paid $170.00 for the CAI through the Special buy, the TBS was $95.00, but I understand that if you buy both the price is better than that, I got them separate before the combo price was offered, and I don't know the combo price, maybe someone who got it can post, or just give David a call, he's a super nice guy! And, YES! Performance did improve!

Who is selling the combo and what is their contact info? Who, is the mystery David???

I often wonder why, if such a simple thing as spacing the TB out 1 inch and adding a helical bore to it gives up anothe 15 ponies, why don't the manufacturers just do it themselves?

Actually, the TBS probably doesn't add any HP, but it does help the low to mid range torque, and I did see a slight increase in gas mileage. David is with Premier Truck Accessories. Let him know you're a member of this forum to get the special combo price, here's his info:
