I have a 2000 CC 4x4 and when I first start it and take off in drive, after traveling about 30-40 feet there is a short sound and small vibration in the front that sounds like an auto hub either trying to engage or disengage. It is very consistant and this is the only time it does it. I have never heard it from other stop and starts only after the vehicle is shut off and started again.Is this the hub or could it be bearing problem. Thanks for any input.

It's tough to comment without hearing the noise. Usually, a hub will cause a "clicking" noise and usually the "clicking" comes from the side opposite the bad hub. If you're feeling a vibration or dull buzz, perhaps you are noticing the ABS self-test function?
