Well, the best thing is that they are just about indestructible. Bad points would be the typical Nissan problems, leaking crank seals, timing chain rattle, etc. The 5 speed is the better of the transmissions, and both the KA and VG series engines are very dependable, but the VG's need timing belt replacement every once in a while whereas the KA uses a chain and does not require service unless the tensioner fails. The front seal leak is not to be taken lightly however if the truck has it. The leak from mine took out the belts, alternator, A/C Compressor clutch and harmonic balancer! Oh, that reminds me: listen to the A/C compressor and see if ti is constantly noisy. If it is, you'll need a new one and it is not cheap- $300 from the dealer.
