Need help finding a better Ipod adapter

Hi all,
To start the story, I bought a PAC NIS-AAI2 adapter from a company through ebay. They had over 6K good reviews and only 2 neutral so I looked them up. It was free shipping and 89 bucks. Well, after ignoring my emails (they only replied to one) my device was over due by 3 weeks. I went to paypal and they gave me my money back. Then the company emailed me saying they were sorry, they had a problem with thier email system. I'm like, email doesnt effect shipping through UPS (they said it would ship on such and such date, take 4 days to get to me, they lied and never shipped it). Dont buy from Audio Adapters.

Anyways

I want to connect my Ipod to my stereo. I have a 6disc indash cd changer with satalite. I dont have the harness as this was a stereo I installed from a king cab (i have a crew cab). I read the PAC would connect right to the back but I read some bad reviews of the device on another forum. I want to control the Ipod through the ipod, not the stereo. Can anyone recomend a new device?

Thanks.

Short of the adapter you tried to purchase, the only other options I know of are the FM Transmitter variety (whose performance are sub par, but you can control the iPod from the iPod) or the OEM Nissan iPod Gateway (outstanding performance, but you can't control the iPod from the Ipod).

I have the OEM Nissan Gateway and am very happy with it. While you can't control the iPod from the iPod, you can control it from the head unit, and it sounds better than an original CD! I tried several of the FM Transmitter models and final just gave up because none of them worked very well. Also, I'm pretty sure the OEM iPod Gateway will plug into the back of the head unit... You may want to find the adapter you were originally considering at a more reputable vendor! Good luck!

logjam electronics are the best. I've bought many from them.

Audio Adapters had it 10 bucks cheaper so thats why I went with them plus the shipping was free. That website shows none in stock. Does anyone know a place with some in stock?

the pan adaptor is slow and hard to navigate, alpine and pioneer have the fastest ones. but you would have to get a new HU. i'd get the pan cd changer control cabel with RCAs on the end of it and plug in the ipod that way. your cd changer and sat radio are already competeing for the same airspace dont mix in an ipod with that. all the FM transmitters suck dont try em.

I have an FM already, got it free so i cant complain about wasting money. I dont plan to ever change the headunit, i dont like the look, i like the stock unit. I just want to play music. I dont have the satalite stereo installed. The unit has the ability to plug it in but I dont like satalite so I never will need to have both plugged in there. What do you mean by "the pan adaptor is slow and hard to navigate", you use the ipod to navigate and the pan adapter just allows the music to play through the stereo, what navigating will i need to do?

some advice for you fellas and the ipods.. i bought a new alpine HU and the alpine KCA adapter for the ipod and it SUCKED. i love alpine and everything in my car was alpine, i sported it around for a couple months but just sold it cause i couldnt stand it. the sound quality was excellent but it took FOREVER to chose a band/song/playlist. it scrolls VERY slowly.

now i need some help from you knowledgeable frontier owners out there. i have a 06 king with factory deck but i am not sure if it is sattelite ready.. how do i find this out, because i want the PAC but am unsure if it will work and if so how, through the ipod or the actual HU?

The pac works right through the ipod. You choose the songs and folders like you normally would. I am not sure how to tell if yours is sat ready, I know mine is becuase the guy i bought it from use tohave satalite. You can also buy a device to connect to the pac to let you control the ipod through the normal stereo controls if you wish.

Sorry if I am re-posting some old info, but there are actually a couple of decent looking options out now. There is one out on www.courtesyparts.com, but there is very little info on it. There are actually two different model numbers depending on whether you have the satellite radio or not.

The other one is on www.mp3yourcar.com. According to what they list, you can use the steering wheel controls to change tracks, it plugs into the back of the stereo, (I'm assuming into the sat. input), and it doesn't disable the controls on the ipod.

They are both $200. I'll probably end up picking one of them up eventually. I will let everyone know how it is when I do.

Cheers!

the www.courtesyparts.com is the one from nissan to connect your ipod to the stereo. I believe it uses the cd changer port, so you either have the cd changer or the ipod (if the cd changer is an external one). I read that one one site that turned me off of that one.

The pac one does everything I want as well as being the cheapest. I guess I will have to stick with the FM transmitter I have.

I'm assuming that you have the factory single-disc unit. If so, it is NOT satellite ready, nor will it accept an AUX input adapter. Your only option is a wired or wireless FM modulator.
