Does anyone else have a bearing whine coming from the clutch area? I think my throw-out bearing is starting to let go on me. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if anyone can even hear the bearing at all.

THanks,

How do you know it is coming from your clutch area? I have a 04 manual tranny, and at interstate speeds and up I get a high pitch whine, changes with speed. Its not too loud. Now you have me wondering, thats why I am asking.
I hear the whine when i depress the clutch to change gears (this is the only time the throw out bearing should spin). The whine starts out loud (the higher the RPMs the louder it is) and gets quieter as the engin RPMs drop.
Just to update...I picked my truck up today. My dealer put a new throw-out bearing and a new pressure plate (the bad bearing had worn two of the fingers down) in my truck. My whine is now gone and all is good. I have a great deal when it comes to service. The truck has 12,500 miles on it and they never asked a single question concerning the bearing. They heard the noise, ordered the parts and replaced everything.
