05 Nismo - Smacked by a$$hole plow truck

F#CK Sh!T. stupid sunnuvab!tch.

we got a pretty decent snowstorm here on Long Island. I am renovating my house and am on a deadline, so I had no choice but to venture out in the storm. this was also the first storm since ive owned the truck and i was eager to see how well it performed in the snow. i was driving no more than 15 minutes and WHACK... a plow truck hit the ass end of my truck and spun me completely around. if it wasnt for some quick moves, it would have been a head on collision and the plow would have probably gone right through the windshield.

the plow truck...a 05 ford f250.... no beacon on, the plow was up so it blocked his headlights and blinkers. the guy was driving fast...like a typical asshole who thinks they are invincidle in the snow b/c of 4wheel drive. so he starts to slow down...and im watching him, but b/c i can see any signals...i had no idea what his intentions were. well without coming to a complete stop, he decides he is going to try an bang a quick left turn before i pass him. so he cuts the wheel and hits the gas... and wouldnt ya know it!!! the truck doesnt turn left... instead it starts sliding diagonally right towards me. so i cut the wheel right and hit the gas in hopes to speed past him before he hits me. i jump the curb and a 5' high snow bank and aimed for an entrance into a shoping center. i would have made it except as i am coming over the curb a car pulls out into the entrance to exit onto the street...so i had to slam on my gas in order to avoid hitting that car. the plow truck slid right into my left bedside panel and spun me completely around. my entire panel is destroyed. the bedliner is cracked.. utilitrack destroyed. bed extender bracket destroyed. it looks like the cross members for the bed buckled... and i noticed today that if i put the truck in 4 wheel drive... it doesnt shift out of 4x4 on the fly anymore. it seems to take forever for it to finally come out and i have to be barely moving. the wheel is straight and i dont think there is any frame damage..at least not that i can tell visiually. who knows what itll look like when the remove that panel.

the truck isnt 2 months old yet. i just made the 2nd payment. F#CK!!!!!! i just got this truck b/c some a$$hole t-boned my last truck making an illegal u-turn.

if it wasnt for bad luck... id have no luck at all.

Same thing happened to my friend in Commack, he was going to plow a shopping center and another Ford F250 killed his Jeep Comanchee. Some of these plow operators are a@@ munches.

the plow was completely at fault. the claim, rental all comes out of that dicks insurance.

it was a young kid driving.. maybe 20-21. he didnt say a word. just asked if we were alright. if he had 1 thing to say... anything at all... it would have been all over. i was raging out. i told him to back the fuck up and get away from me. i would have ended up in jail if he opened his mouth.

Sorry to read about your accident. It sounds like you were trying to avoid the truck and he went all the way over on your side of the road and banged you. Be glad he didn't hit the driver side door. It should be an open and shut case with his insurance.

I can't tally damage cost all that well. I'd be more concerned with the drive train and axles. Since the truck is so new, it can't be totalled so you can get all new.

Sorry to see your NISMO all banged up, but it sounds like you're fine which is good. I was in an accident in my last truck in the snow so I know what the first word out of your mouth was.
You should check if the other person was found 100% at fault by the two insurance companies. Then you can go directly to his insurance company for the damage claim and not have your insurance company payout the money to you, which I believe they eventually reclaim from his insurance company if was his fault. There's some insurance term for that.
If the money comes directly from your insurance eventhough it was his fault, it will probably still show up as a claim on your insurance record.

we had the same insurance..geico. and the claim was filed completely under his policy. so it doesnt even look like i got into an accident on my end. i dont have to pay a dollar out of pocket for anything.

I would check into that one. It'll show on your record, but won't have any impact on your rates because it will be a non-fault accident.

I feel for ya man. Another good reason to be in florida this time of year. I hate to ask but I've been wondering since I've had my truck. How thick is the bedliner? I wouldn't think it should crack like that but I guess when you factor in the temperature it seems more plausible.

nah that bedliner isn't mean to flex like that lol... it's supposed to be hard, not flexiable lol

anyways, sucks to see the truck smacked up like that, good news is they may just transplant a new bed on it...
