2003 CC SC - Auto tranny hard 1st shift?

New to the board and just bought this 03. It has 30k mi and shifts hard from 1st to 2nd until warm. Hard enough to be noticeable, and even going easy on it the rpms are over 3k before shifting. Once it warms up it shifts fine.

I had the tech at a dealership check it out before I bought it and they said it was normal. Not real concerned considering the 60k mi drivetrain, just wondered if I need to push harder to get it addressed by Nissan.

I've searched and realize there is a problem with pathfinder tranny valve bodies, does this carry over to Frontiers too?

2nd question: I want to install an aftermarket tranny cooler, will that cause problems later if I have a warranty claim on the tranny?

aftermarket tranny coolers should not affect the warranty. I would chance to say that the dealer or a reputible shop would have to install it though. call you warranty company to get more info.

Its not adnormally harsh but my dads 01 SC crew shifts somewhat hard frrm 1st to 2nd sometimes when its cold.
I dont think u have anything to worry about.

Before you try to get the dealer to do anything just do a pan drain and refill.
The trans pan has a easily accessible trans plug and it should take exactly 4 quarts to refill if you let it drain for maybe 5 to 10 min.
Sometimes a little more or a little less fluid but my dads always takes 4.

Its shifted the same since new and now has 112k with no problems.

I actually have that exact same problem with my '05 CC. It is noticable enough that it concerns me a little, but it isn't drastic enough that I am rushing right to the dealership.

I plan on taking it in and asking them about it soon, but I'm sure I'll be fed some sort of BS on how that's completely normal for a truck with 7,500 miles on it.
