I used SeaFoam in my previous vehicle without any problems.

Take a look at the web site below. It details the cleanout procedure. I performed this procedure on my 2001 4 cylinder and it cleared the check engine code I was seeing. The ports were almost completely blocked in 3 of the 4 cylinders. My truck had around 77000 miles at the time.

Having said that I think the dealer is ripping you off. The service bulletin indicates about 1.2 hours for the repair. Even wiith some dealer "overhead" this job should not run over 2.5 hours or maybe around 250 dollars. The job is not technically difficult but is is a literal pain because access to the ports is poor. You have to unbolt the throttle body and the EGR valve and push them out of the way to get access to the ports. I used some gun cleaning brushes (.22, .45) and Hoppes #9 to loosen the carbon and clean it from the port.

jesse6, first make sure it's not still under warranty. Most emission parts are covered till 80,000. If not inform the dealer that you know about the TSB. If they will not help you then play hardball and call nissanusa.
