I like the web site, it actually helped me make my desicion. Anyway, here is a picture of my truck with it's new shoes. I know there has been some talk on here about what fits. Anyway, the rims are 18x9 with a 18mm offset and the tires are 285/60/18. It lifted the truck about a half inch and completely filled up the wheel well which was the look I was after.
Very nice look. I PM'd you, but thought others might like to see your responses to my questions, so here goes.
Nice shoes. Those are from Discount Tire, correct? I, too, have been searching for just the right wheel, and have narrowed it down to MB Motoring Smooth - which are a Dodge Dakota application. These wheels are also 18x9, but with a +10 offset. My questions are: How does the outside of the wheel/tire line up with the edges of the fenders? (pics?) Do you have any rubbing with the 285s? What brand tires did you get? Do you like the tires so far? Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason

I like it! Those are some of my favorite wheels.. and if I had gone with an "on road look", I would have went with those too. I am also curious about the lining up with the outer edge of the truck.. do they stick out? And if so, how much?

i think the taller tires alone increased the ride height by a half an inch

I bought them from Discount Tire, if you know what you want exactly and don't mind putting them on yourself, go to Discounttiredirect.com, order the wheels and tires, get free shipping to your door and you'll save a couple of hundred bucks for the trouble. It takes about 3 days. I did a lot of math and research before I bought them to make sure they would fit the way I wanted them to.
As to your questions, the outside of the rim just about lines up with the edge of the fender, the side wall (bulge) sticks out just past the fender maybe a 1/4 of an inch. All the tread width (contact patch) of the tire is about a 1/4 inside the fender and they aren't close to rubbing anything at all. I have about a 1/2 inch from the closest point wheel lock to wheel lock.
For the rims you want with a +10 offset, that is going to move the entire assembly outward 8MM, or about 1/3 of an inch from how mine are. That offset with a 9 inch rim is going to put the wheel and tire patch outside of the fender and increase the arch on the wheel travel, so if you went with the same size tires as I did, it might rub the fenders when you turn.

It was the tires I chose that lifted the truck and it rides awesome! The stock tires to me had a "floating" feel to them and that is now gone.
Thank you for the info. I don't think 1/3 inch will discourage me from getting those MB Smooths. Didn't want the phat look, but want something like what you have. I'll probably go 265 or 275 any way, just to be sure I have no rubbing issues. Nice pics!
