Someone smacked my Front, Maybe time for a Pushbar?
My truck was parked on the street last night, & someone swiped it on the front driver fender area. I was thinking if it had a pushbar with a grilleguard, the damage would have been less(but probably still some).
Anyways, who makes reasonably priced pushbar/grilleguard combos for my '02 Front? Thanks.

Westin makes a cheap pushbar for our truck, less than 130 dollars at some sites for a black 2" bar. Don't know about the whole brush guard. Do you have a 2wd? If so, if and when you get a bar, post some pictures. I really want to see what exactly it would look like on a 2wd Frontier.

I looked at the westin, and a few other bars at one time or another, and I don't feel like they mount securely enough the actually push anything with them. They look like they would just bend basl and contact the front grill. They are of some interest to me however, and I know that Mitchell35758 has been very interested for quite some time; so I'm sure you'd get some good responces to some pics.
BTW, all of the bars I've looked at mount in the same way. It will be a simple install if you decide to go that route.
Good luck
Johnny
My wife has a brush guard/safari bar/roo bar similar to the Westin bar on the front of her Honda CR-V. I can attest from grim experience that in a low-speed fender-bender "bump" incident that the bar will bend up and back. It's only supported at the bottom two mounting points and will bend/pivot upward until it hits the bumper and/or grille.
In our case it mangled the plastic bumper cover, the impact bar underneath, tweaked the radiator support slightly, and broke all the plastic mounting tabs off the right headlight. Of course the bar itself was trashed, along with all of its mounting brackets and hardware.
The grille was OK.
Cost about $1k to fix plus $200 or so for a new bar.
What I'm trying to say is, don't fool yourself. The safari-type bars are only for looks and a place to mount extra lights. They won't withstand a hit from anything heavier than a shopping cart. And they really don't cover much of the front end anyway.
They look awesome though, and I'll probably end up with one on my truck someday . . .

Thanks for the tip on the Westin brand, I didn't find those on my basic Google search. It looks like about $400 for the Sportsman GrilleGuard which is basically what I was looking for. I don't know if I'm ready to pay that much for it, but if I do, I'll certainly post pics.
Btw, my truck is 2wd.

I got a Manik Brush/Grill Gaurd for my '05 4x4 Crew Cab LE. I actaully had a person take a turn to wide and they smacked the front of my truck. Hit the guard dead center. Got a few scratches on my bumper but boy was the guys car f'ed up. Thats what you get for talking on the phone, lol. I got my buddy to fix the scratches for 30 bucks and a case of beer . I discribed the damage of the other cards car and my buddy said almost 2K. my manik guard did anumber and had no damage that couldnt be fixed.
I'd recommend the Westin Sportsman bar. I've had it on my truck for about a year and it is sturdy. I've used it to tie off to as well as moderate pushing. It mounts directly to the frame without any drilling. I'm in the process of changing everything over and removing this bumper, the taillight guards, and the stock running boards to custom fab some prerunner bars and sell all of the stock stuff. This truck will eventually have a SLR Stage 5 kit. Currently it has fiberglass with a Fabtech lift running 305/70R16 Goodyear MTR's on Eagle 137 wheels. By the way it's a 2001 Frontier Crew Cab SE.

Im running 285/75R16 goodyear MT/R tires. I work at a dealership and got them for 120 bucks ea. Best damn offroad capable/highway friendly radial ever. Damn good tire.
Since I'm the Sales Manager of an off road shop I've run various tires and I must say that the MT/R's look the best but the ride is one of the roughest. The best tire I've run is the Bridgestone desert dueller AT revo's.
